Code that I used to run on a different version of madwifi set the device
type to ARPHRD_IEEE80211_RADIOTAP via:
echo '803' > /proc/sys/net/ath0/dev_type
Which was checked in the code using:
On the new machine we are using, which has a different version of
madwifi, /proc/sys/net/ath0/dev_type no longer exists. It is now:
I checked through documentation, and to set it to 802.11+radiotap header
it needs to be type 2, so I set it to that. Originally it was set to 0.
I thought that after checking the address family again (sa_family) by
running my code, it would be ARPHRD_IEEE80211_RADIOTAP (value 803) ...
however it is set as 804.
I need to use the radiotap headers for packet injection. I tried just
injection, but i do not see any packets being transmitted from the
device using a second machine in monitoring mode.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
