I'm running Red Hat 9.0 - 2.4.20 with the D-link DWL-G650 cardbus card
on my Dell laptop with AP= D-Link DI-624 and I've run into a problem.
Recently (the last week or so) I've started getting a horrific amount of
# ifconfig ath0
ath0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:80:C8:11:04:F7
inet addr:192.168.0.110 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:1241 errors:109833 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:7833
TX packets:1083 errors:15 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
RX bytes:664711 (649.1 Kb) TX bytes:105795 (103.3 Kb)
Needless to say my performance sucks - As soon as I boot the system
and the card initializes it starts sending messages to the console that
the transmit speed is dropping (I asssume due to the receive errors)
and then usually bottoms out at ~ 10Mb. The AP is set at 54Mb.
Before you think it's the card I have to tell you the thing screams
under Windows 2000 with the same laptop. Nothing but 54Mb. (no errors)
What really kills me is that it used to work just as well under Linux !
Anyone care to comment ?
