I have the exact same problem only my PCI cards are AB620's running on RH9.
However, I did find that if I turn off WEP, the problem goes away.
As soon as I start routing with WEP enabled, I get a panic.

Subject: [Madwifi-users] SuSE 9.0 + D-Link DWL-G520 + ip_forward 1 = Kernel Panic
I use the D-Link DWL G520 Pci Card with SuSE 9.0 Pro.
The Driver Works as AP and I can connect from my Notebook
with an D-Link DWL G620.
I can Ping and access (Ftp,ssh etc.) the Linux Box from
my Windows Notebook.
The Linux Box shuold now give me Access to my Local Network
so I set the Routes, an enable Ip Forwarding with :
echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
When I then Ping a host in my Network from the Windows Notebbok
the Linux Box freezes with Kernel Panic :((
I used the Driver included into SuSE 9.0 and the actual CVS Driver
with both the Box crashed :/
Has anyone seen something like that ? And find a fix ??
