I'm trying to get madwifi on a IBM T40P working on a fairly complex
wireless network: lots of different APs talking and the main network
I'm trying to connect to is running on multiple channels. In monitor
mode with kismet all the networks are displayed correctly, but
when I set the nwid using iwconfig it just keeps switching over multiple
frequencies and every received packet is a "invalid nwid". The signal
strengths displayed by iwconfig are fine too. The wireless
seems to work for other people with different wireless chipset. The
problem is also fairly independent of location. My theory is
that madwifi somehow doesn't like the multiple APs with the same
nwid on different channels.
I've been trying to find the code that causes the invalid nwid mismatch,
but it seems to be somewhere in the binary only part of the driver.
Are there known problems with madwifi getting confused on complex networks
