I think I read that the atheros hardware delivers +15 dBm at indoor
frequencies (~5.2G) and +17dBm at outdoor frequencies (~5.6G, ~5.8G). But
Our tests show that reception power is 8dB lower at 5.6G and 6dB lower at
5.8G with respect to the 5.2G frequency range. We have tried different
setups, antennas, cables, including a direct connection using attenuators
and all of them give the same result.
Can Somebody tell me what is going on. I need to know if the driver / HAL
/ chipset does automatic TX - power control of some sort or if there is a
power limitation of some kind for outdoor frequencies.
We have a 1Km link that only works at indoor frequencies 5.2GHz. We would
want to know why?
