I work with the ar5213 atheros mac and the ar5112 atheros phy.
I put 2 such atheros cards one by the other on the same board , on
different channels in the 5Ghz band or in the 2.4 Ghz band.
my problem is that when the 2 radios gets packets to transmit, the first
one that transmits causes the other one to wait, because the 2nd one
senses that the air is not clear (although the transmition is on other
so I usually get half the rate I expect.
I have thought of 2 ways to solve this problem, and I need your help:
1) transmiting without listening to the cca. (or a way to disable the
carrier sense (I saw that such register existed in the ar5210, but I
don't see it in the other macs))
2) disabling the rx in the phy (having only transmit mode), for some
time. I saw in atheros data sheet that there is a way to digitally
disable rx phy, but they didn't elaborate on how this can be done.
does anyone knows how to do it? or have other idea on how to solve the
