Hi All,

I have a query regarding the level of control Atheros chip offers, As part of a in-house trail project we want to test of new MAC protocol, This protocol don’t follow the message structures of 802.11.

Does Atheros allow us to only use the 802.11 PHY services, and let us develop our own MAC over and above it?

While going through the code I found that during handling of interrupts, Beacons signals are handled differently. Is this because the Atheros hardware has the logic to check the MAC structure and type of signal embedded in the hardware and interrupts with different vales are sent for different signals of MAC.

Your reply would definitely help us in evaluating our proposal. Thanks in advance, for the replies.

Thanks and Regards,

Lakshmi Narayana Madala
