I do not know why IPv6 is there.
No use when I do "ifconfig ath0 up"
This command does not bring up my Atheros Ar5212 miniPCI card.
Any clue for these two problems?

Hello!

Please let's not convert this to a private discussion. I'm not doing
any support by private e-mail. The mailing list is the proper place to
discuss this issue.

It would be useful if you specify the version of the driver and of the
kernel.

And by the way, please write in plain text without HTML and avoid
top-posting. It would make it easier for others to quote your messages.

Are they present? Are you assigning an IPv6 address to the interface?
Anyway, I've never worked with IPv6.

Maybe the interface is down at the time you are running iwconfig.
