Segmentation fault on Ubuntu 9.10 64bit

    When I click "New File" the MadEdit will crash.
    The error "madedit: segfault at 0 ip 000000000049eed8 sp 00007fffea2cdbd0 error 4 in madedit" from /var/log/messages

    OS: Ubuntu 9.10 64bit<br>Version: MadEdit 2.9.1 amd64

    I have the same problem (segfault) when I'm try to open a new file.
    please find below the gdb log,

    Here is a patch. You have to compile the program by your self. At the moment, the project stucks a little bit. What happened to the a author?
    If we find some people, we could fork the project and create a newer and better version. It's sad, that people contribute patches, but nobody will check and add them to the code source.
