I didn't do anything, it just worked that way.
I had to return the machine, because it wasn't reliably using the second
memory bank. They decided it was defective, so I'll get a different
mainboard in a few days.
The problems I experienced with the Mac Mini Duo with the kernel patch I
downloaded last week:
- The video seems to start a few lines down. I can use it if I specify a
height a bit less than my real height (I used width:1600,height:1192).
- No sound output. The driver loads fine, but no mix/configuration
settings seem to make any sound.
- Fully unaccelerated X. Oddly enough, the unaccelerated X server
performs better (x11perf) than my 2.2Ghz AMD64 (32-bit mode) with an
nVidia GeForce FX 5200. Things like scroll500 are nearly twice as
fast. Must be a consequence of the CPU having better access to the
video memory (shared with GPU).
- I built 'mplayer'. Amazingly, with -zoom, it can play movies in an
unresized window. I've never had a machine that could do this. It
can't keep up if the window is made larger. Obviously, this should
work fine once HW scaling is available.
