Hi all, I successfully installed gentoo on my new mac mini thanks to patches =20 and instructions found on the website. It is installed on the hard disk in a separate partition. refit, =20 elilo and my kernel are installed on a usb key. So when I want to =20 boot Linux I have to press the option key and choose Linux. It's =20 fine, but loading the kernel from the usb key is quite long (usb 1). =20 I'd like to let elilo on the usb key, but put the kernel on my ext3 =20 partition. Elilo doesn't seem to see my ext3 partition (when I press =20 "=3D" ), which seems strange to me. Is it normal ? Is it possible to =20 boot directly from an ext3 partition or do I have to put the kernel =20 on a hpfs or fat partition ? Also, I was wondering, *if* linux kernel were able to write in hpfs =20 partitions, couldn't we just put an entire Linux system in the same =20 partition than macosX ? Like install it in /Linux and pivot root at =20 boot time ? I think I'm going to write a tutorial in french on how to install =20 gentoo on a mac mini. Once it will be done, may I put it in the wiki ? Thank you, Regards, R=E9mi Flament.= |
