Do you get the subwoofer working this way? I'm coming to the impression that many Linux users just don't notice the lack of the subwoofer. They're confident with ANY sound coming out the speakers. Please take a sound file and play it in Linux and in MacOSX. I don't even have to listen carefully to notice the difference. I wonder if someone will complete the driver. If I look on the ALSA website it does not really look like progress is going on. The bug report is also already 4 months old and the affected MacBooks are around at least since February. I would of course fix the driver, but I don't speak C.
