Hello; I'm trying to configure lircd for the appleir, and seem to be
confused with this from irrecord;

irrecord - application for recording IR-codes for usage with lirc

irrecord: could not init hardware (lircd running ? --> close it, check
permissions)

I've issued killall lircd and /etc/init.d/lirc stop but still receive this
message.

any info would be appreciative.
