Hi everyone, I'm currently compiling the linux kernel on my AppleTV (I'm following the Gentoo tutorial on MythTV's wiki) and I was just wondering how long it would take. I've read about long compiles, about 14 hours, on regular machines. I know there's only 1 ghz in this machine but since it's a silent compile and the only feedback I'm getting is from ps -x I got too curious. It's been at it for 20 hours now. The script is still displaying "building dependencies". There seems to be a lot of activity according to ps -x, yet the disk space usage stays the same. So I got a bit worried. And yes, it's my first kernel-compile :) -- /Met vriendelijke groeten,/ *Jelle De Loecker* Kipdola Studios - Tomberg |

I have never had a genkernel take nearly that long.
