I just installed Ubuntu Dapper onto my Mac Mini Core Duo 1.66 GHz, 120
I noticed that the harddisk temperature went up by about 7°C from 47°C
to 54°C. Now I'm wondering what might be the reason behind this.
Unfortunately I've have not been able to read the CPU temperature under
Linux but since the core speedstep down to 1 GHz when idle, I don't
think the CPU is the culprit.
What I suspect more is that OS X handles the power and heat management
Is there anyone with more insight into this and maybe with a hint as to
what to do against this increase in warmth? How can read the CPU cores
Since this Mac is going to run 24/7 I am very thankful for any hint that
keeps the hardware longer alive.
