I am not mac savvy.  I am trying to set up a mac client to
connect w/ a red hat linux box.

I'm getting the following error messages:

lsh: Protocol error: Algorithm negotiation failed.
Can't find a window for the port # in WindByPort
Can't find a window for the port # in WindByPort

each time I try to connect.  Is the lsh error the problem
where lsh  keys are different than the ssh 2 keys?
If so, it is not clear to me how to generate the
compatible key on the mac. Nor is it clear how
to tell macssh to use a particular key.

I am passing no arguments to lsh.  Should I be?
I just want a client tty connection.

I have no idea what the WindByPort error is.

Any help or hints would be appreciated.

That's a problem in the OpenSSH 3.4p1 server that no longer supports zlib on some configurations. You need to disable the zlib compression in the Favorites->Edit->SSH2 tab.
