Hello everyone, The title of my message says it all. My situation is the following: I am trying to install MacGPG. I have downloaded and unwrapped the file. I have tried to configure the file. The following error has resulted: configure: error: in `/Users/owner1/gnupg-1.4.11': configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH See `config.log' for more details. Hence, I am looking for an "acceptable C compiler." Any suggestions? Best, Noah |

That's the version I have on a PPC G4 Powerbook running 10.5.8. Because I'm afraid the current version 4.* is not compatible with 10.5.8. I guess that you can still download it from Apple's Developer site, for free, if you hold a basic (free) account with Apple's Developer. A better option is to use your original 10.5.* Install DVD (or CDs, I don't remember which), look for "optional installs", and install the included compiler(s). Good luck, Charly |

Charly et al. Brilliant - I've got it installing from the disc as we speak. Thanks very much, everyone! It seems that my previous posting didn't make it to the list. Following Ludwig's pointer, I have already found, downloaded and installed Xcode 3.1.4. Thanks again, Charly |

I have found, after extensive search, a link to Download Notes 3.1., that does not include any link to download any files. I'll keep trying, for the sake of having my 10.5.8 PPC Powerbook G4 up to date. I using it occasionally. Thanks for your feedback. Charly |
