I am trying to set up access to a CVS repository stored on a machine running Mac OS X Server (v10.4.4). But, I have run into a couple of SSH problems.

1. The server is configured to only accept SSH Protocol 2 connections. The server is using OpenSSH_3.8.1p1.
In the post titled "Error 1102 caused by SSH problem" on 2006-03-24, Glenn L. Austin says his is working on implementing SSH 2.
Is SSH 2 support still being worked on?

2. If I change the Mac OS X Server to support SSH protocol 1 and 2, MacCVS Pro still fails to connect to the server. The error is reported as 1102 (kSSHErrorUnexpectedPacketType).
Is it possible to modify the existing SSH 1 support to be compatible with the SSH 1 implementation used by Mac OS X Server?

3. Has anyone else successfully setup access to a CVS repository stored on a machine running Mac OS X Server?
I looked into setting up a pserver via modifying the inetd.conf file, but the CVS documentation discourages that because the "client stores and transmits passwords in cleartext."
