usually I submit as "volumes" my CDs
sometimes (and this time) i want to make a new
collection and then I submit a directory in my HD that
have many subdirectories.

e.g.

C:\documents and settings\username\documenti\musica

that contains a bunch of files and many subdirectories
with subdirectories with subdirectories ... ;-)
each containing a lot of files

when scanning is done, now i have an infinite loop
of "integer overflow" errors (red X).

How long is the largest path in that directory?
Does it contain any non-ansii characters, like or
    unicode?
How many files is it in all of those directories?
How large is their size total?

similiar situation if you make following steps:

    1) option "incl. all files in collection" ON
    2) refreshing my music collection on hdd
    3) "integer overflow" pop-up while refreshing the window or
    focusing on mac (e.g. alt-tab)

I can verify the same bug happening to me on XP SP1 with MAC
2.92 when scanning a directory. It gets through several
hundred files and 3 directories and then with the integer
overflow error. It is scanning a combination of mp3, ogg
    and flac files.

The program may be hanging up on a particular file. It
always seems to crash on a particular directory and if I
scan different directory structures I do not get the error.
I have specified to only scan valid files in options.

Madah's comments in this thread led me to act on a hunch and
I found a workaround for my paticular issue. See below for
    details.

I did further hunting down of the particular bug I'm
encountering with integer overflow errors. I narrowed it
down the the particular directory, and I think file.

The directory that I get MAC 2.92 to repeatedly die on with
    Integer overflow is shown here:

The file that it is crashing on is file #11 which is the
longest in the directory and interestingly enough it looks
like that file passes a Windows explorer filename/pathname
byte limit or something as explorer can't even rename it and
attempts to will crash windows explorer.

I copied the particular file off to a shorter directory,
renamed it and then moved it back. MAC will then scan the
    directory flawlessly.

So it appears I have gotten to the root of the problem in my
case and made a work around. I don't know why windows
explorer allows creation of filenames that exceed its limit,
but hey, it is Windows! :)

Thanks for a great product guys!
