[Mac-on-linux-users] nikon coolscan v ed

first of all thank you so much for mac-on-linux, i would struggle to
live without it.
i wonder if you can help. i have a nikon coolscan v ed (film scanner),
which is working fine on the mac os x partition of my powerbook g4. the
scanner connects to the computer via a usb cable. i don't have any
problems using any other usb devices i have on mol, but for some reason
the coolscan doesn't work at all. the software is there ok, but nothing
happens, basically. as far as i have found on the web the coolscan v ed
is incompatible with linux, at least for now.
i would appreciate any ideas/advice.
