Hi everybody, My beige G3 has the usual problem with console video, and I thought I could use XDGA instead, even if it is slower. But it wasn't that easy... I suspect that XDGA became obsolete (in MOL) before anyone really tested it. To get into it, xvideo has to be disabled. And to be certain that it's actually used, console video has to be disabled. Anyway, in my system (Ubuntu Dapper, xorg 7.0.0), the XDGA modes seem to begin from 1, and not 0 (as MOL assumes). The result is that the resolution is not what the OS expects, f.ex. I only saw upper left corner of my desktop (320x240 of 1024x768). I simple patch made it work. I'll send it to the mac-on-linux-devel list. I hope someone else could try it. Risto |
