You might also try VueScan, a commercial third-party scanner software
package. http://www.hamrick.com/vsm.html
The company offers a version for "linux" but I suspect it's compiled
for Intel processors, so I would suggest downloading the trial version
for Mac OS X and see if it works for you in mol. (If it doesn't, of
course you will also want to verify that it works when booted under
"plain" OS X.)
