Strange, now it works fine. Maybe I was wrong. Sorry about that. The only
problem now is that the font is too big. I have the height set to 116 in the
custom-set-faces command, and that creates a very nice size for andale-mono
in 21. Can you tell me how I might make the face added with the
set-frame-face command smaller?

Here it is:
