I use mac-emacs (v.20.6) to write and send my mail. As you know, when asked to send the mail message, mac-emacs will call Eudora to perform the task. This works all right. But if I sent text which contains French characters these won't show correctly in Eudora. Usually, if I type a text using French characters in mac-emacs but have to visit it in a different editor, I use a small utility called 'Xlator' which will translate ISO formats into a Mac readable file and vice versa. Using this software, I can convert emacs file to a BBedit readable file, for instance, and back again and characters will appear correctly in both editor. Is there a way to perform such 'translation' within mac-emacs that would allow me to send my French mail from within emacs without the extra operations? |
