Hi Bill,

These are two separate efforts.  Some of the advantages of the
mac-emacs project are:

+ It is based on GNU Emacs 21.1.  So it has most of the features of
  version 21.

+ The Mac OS Classic code is part of the standard GNU Emacs source
  distribution.  The Mac OS X code will probably be part of 21.3 (you
  can currently get this as a patch).

+ It has international font/fontset and LEIM support.

The following is a distinguishing characteristic and not an advantage:

+ It uses the Carbon API to implement the GUI.
