[Mac-emacs-users] Postscript type 1 font sizes

The X Window System name for some kinds of fonts has a 0 for font 
size.  For instance if I do:

(add-to-list
  'default-frame-alist
  '(font . "-apple-american typewriter-*-12-*-mac-roman")
  )

it can't find the font.  However, if I do:

(add-to-list
  'default-frame-alist
  '(font . "-apple-american typewriter-*-mac-roman")
  )

it does find the font.  How do I set the font size in that case?
