Hi Jean,

No release date has been set for GNU Emacs 21.  However, this version
has been in pretest since last October and should be released quite
soon, probably within the next few months (?).  Of course, the OS X
port can only be officially released then.

The OS X port of GNU Emacs 21 will run in a terminal window if given
the -nw option on the command line.  If the termcap is set correctly
for the terminal window, Emacs will use colors.  It also runs with a
GUI with menu, scroll bar, etc. as a Carbon application.
