Hello. I have been trying to install my laptop's (MSI GX700 : http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=135&prod_no=1227 ) webcam driver (Bus 003 Device 003: ID 0402:5602 ALi Corp. Video Camera Controller). I extract the files, run "make", then "sudo checkinstall". Everything seems alright. The problem comes when I try to load the module "/lib/modules/2.6.27-7-generic/kernel/drivers/usb/media/m5602.ko"; I get this error message: "Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)". My dmesg output is: http://paste.ubuntu.com/63699/ I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 RC (updated from 8.04). Any ideas about what can I do to load the module m5602? Thanks a lot for your help and kind work :-D
My laptop's Webcam is detected in Windows as a Bison webcam, just in case it helps, here is the driver: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=driverfile&dno=2882&i=0
