The first release 0.1 of the open-source tool m3u2num has just become avaible.
m3u2num is a little command-line tool which adds numbers in front of mp3 files listed on a .m3u playlist.

Many mp3 player do not support m3u playlists.
They just play the mp3 files sorted alphabetically.
If you add numbers in front of these files the mp3 player will play them in the correct order.
Because this is depending on the number of you mp3 files much work, I've programmed m3u2num to do this automatically.... read more
