Hi! I really apologize for falling off the face of the earth for the last month and a half--too many things going on. I spent some time today extracting the data from the phpwiki we had on the web-site. It took a while to figure out what the format for the db files was, but then I figured out it's gdbm and I pulled down a Python module for gdbm, extracted the data, and started reformatting it. My question is this: what do we want to do with it? SourceForge has all web-sites on a read-only file system, so there's no way we can put up another file-based wiki again. We could go with mediawiki, but ... since none of us are putting a huge amount of time into Lyntin, I don't think we'd put a lot of time into editing the wiki and it'll just fill with spam and continue to be useless. So I think I'm against doing another wiki. We could absorb the files into documentation, convert it to reST, check it into CVS with the rest of Lyntin, and then post it on the site in HTML form. I just did something similar to that with PyBlosxom, so doing it for Lyntin is more of a "putting in the time" issue than a "figure out how to do it all" issue. Or some third option I haven't thought of. Any thoughts on this? How many people are still using Lyntin? /will |
