First, i would like to say that i absolutely LOVE Lynkeos!!! It is extremely fast and extremely user friendly!
BUT it has one severe limitation for me: If stacking certain picture series, the algorithm for positioning the pics shows a severe limitation: it can only adjust x/y, but not angle adjustments. Near the pole, this leads to the stack being perfectly aligned at the center but with circular streaks around the pic center.

Angle adjustment of the light frames is therefore desperately needed!

This is the only bug/missing feature(?) that is keeping me from trashing DSS and moving completely to Lynkeos.
Keep up the good work!

... I can send sample stacks and pictures if needed....

By coincidence, I'm working on this feature.
During a recent trip, having only my DSLR and a tripod, I took some unguided wide angle pictures of the milky way. It is impossible to stack these pictures due to the field rotation.

I therefore started to work on "multi point alignment". The final implementation will handle rotation and scaling.

The funny thing is : i'm right now also on a trip with only my dslr and tripod ;)
    Great!

    Changes needed :

    • GUI has to allow multiple selections in the image frame, to provide multiple alignment squares.
    • Rotation and scaling between images has to be measured during alignment, using the Kabsch algorithm.
    • The transform matrix shall be saved in the align result.
    • Rotation angle and scale shall be displayed in the list frame.
    • The transform matrix has to be used during stacking.
    • To correctly stack with scaling, a bicubic interpolation should be used.
