In fact, CMake give some headache so some others Ubuntu dev, like they have with autotools :) Yes, autotools is complex, but when you use it since some times, it doesn't seem too horrible. And GNOME and XFCE still use autotools, giving us some examples if we want to improve it. Also, I don't want to learn another build system, just for the sake to try to improve something, that IMO, have a really small benefit : it's just building code, not creating it. And it's not like all the build system are broken, they are currently working. If you decide to migrate, it's your decision. But I'll not be able to help upstream on that part anymore. And, like all distributions, I will need time to adapt my tools, time that will not be spend into writing code, bug triaging, testing etc ... Regards, Julien Lavergne |
