I know how to create desktop short cut. But that is not something that I want to achieve. I want to make an area in the Desktop background click-able (like an HTML).

Some one please help.

Hi,
This is what have "desktop file" for name. You can create it as a file, by yourself, or
if you use Firefox there is an extension which makes a destkop file for you can puts it
where you want in your home.
