Yes, one can choose 'Show only icons' and also 'Show windows from all workspaces'.

We don't have the click to raise in the Pager right now, but I know that is fairly widely implemented.  Should look at.

If anything there is more pressure to be complete than light.  Most of the feedback is of the form why don't you have this Gnome feature yet.
