We discussed this a while ago. Now I've made some concrete proposals on the wiki at LXDE.org:Copyrights/CC-BY-SA proposal
Please edit that page and/or comment.
The key things to highlight are:
- We can prepare to change by taking the important first steps, which are very easy, and we can start now.
- The better we plan it and the sooner we start, the less work will be involved. If we do nothing, every edit under the current license means more to resolve later.
- What license should we use? I've assumed that CC-BY-SA is good for most purposes in terms of wikis and online info, but do we need to dual license with GPL, to allow for use in commenting in code?
