I believe this issue is completely fixed in th current GIT sources repository. Check it when possible, please, and let us know if something is still wrong. Thank you very much.

Same problem after upgrading form lubuntu 15.04 to lubuntu 15.10.
After reboot (or even logout) the panel always is presented 150 pixel wide.

I initially planned to wait for an official release but my inpatience got the best of me and I built it from the git repo.
