I'm using 0.5.5 in Slackware 14.1 x86_64 that I compiled from source, and I've noticed in several versions of lxappearance that if you try to resize the window, stretch it out bigger then close it and reopen it, it always reverts back to a default smaller size.

There seems to be no way to make it a size you'd like and have it maintain that size.

The problem for me is when GTK themes have long names I like to make the window bigger so I can read the names, but everytime I restart lxappearance I have to constantly resize it.

I hope this is something you all can PLEASE fix in a new release soon?

I've set the label to indicate this is a bug in lxappearance. Rarely anyone is concerned to look into full list of bugs, it's why every bug should be marked, otherwise chances nobody will ever fix it are very high.

Well I hope this gets fixed soon, really bothersome with long file names, always needing to resize the window to see the names.

This is not a bug but a feature request. Very few applications try to remember its window size. May be it will be implemented sometime. Thank you very much.

I just tried 0.5.6 and it's not remembering window size...

You stated very few applications try to remember its window size...

Actually I find this not to be true, all the applications I use do remember Windows size and I actually find this to be the NORM for GUI applications...

Been a Linux geek a very long time, I've always seen this behaviour, but yes I will agree on the word that SOME don't, but in my 15 years in Linux, 90% of the applications I've been using remember the Window size...

PLEASE, I hope this can be added into the next release, it should be, because as I stated, themes with long names get cut off and you constantly have to use the scrollbar to read them...

Be patient, please, LXDE team isn't very big to implement all the features fast enough, and fixing bugs still has much more priority than implementing new features. I hope you would understand. Thank you.

Ahhh 0.6.2 came out and now almost 2 years later this still doesn't work?

Is this really that complicated to put in this GUI, to have it maintain size after you resize it and then reopen it?

  I'm sorry for your disappointment but 0.6.2 was only bugfix-like release, if new feature was implemented then it would be 0.7.0 instead, and certainly the fact it is implemented would be commented here as well. So just wait, or find somebody who would implement it for you, we will be happy to include that into the code.

Hi,

I wouldn't call this just disappointment.

I'm just surprised is all, because in all the years I've used Linux, I've come across a few applications that didn't maintain size. Coding a gui to maintain size seems pretty common in Linux, and I didn't think this should take this long to fix...

How far away are we looking before 0.7.0?
