Lurker has a fairly complicated strategy which I like, seems to get things
mostly right, and I intend to keep through all lurker versions.

What it does is it compares the server mbox timestamp (arrival time on the
mailing list server) and the client timestamp. If they are within some
threshold (12 hours I think?) it believes the user timestamp. Otherwise, it
believes the server timestamp.
