I've always wanted an equivalent of the Solaris cachefs
implemented under Linux. Basically, cachefs is just a
transparent caching layer built on NFS. Works great
for software distribution and greatly improves
performance.

well I have an experimental implemtation of this
it is working fine afaik, though I don't use much (I moved
this capability directly into my software)

going to attach the current patch though, Florin might want
    to integrate it
