It is possible to mount a web folder via gvfs and lufs,
but it is not possible to write files. The contents of
the folder are listed correctly, the file is created,
but no contents are written.
Write access to the server has been proved with
Nautilus and Gnome-VFS and the problem appears at
Apache 2 and Tomcat 4 (no other servers tested).

The debug output of the following operations is attached.

[root@localhost lufs-0.9.3]# lufsmount
gvfs:///http://192.168.1.156 /mnt/webdav/ >
/root/lufs.log 2> /root/lufs.err
[root@localhost lufs-0.9.3]# ls /mnt/webdav/
Betriebssystemarchitektur.doc hallo Linux
sdsds.exe ThreadTest.exe
Diagram1.png hallo_lars
lufs-0.9.3.tar.gz ThreadTest.cs
[root@localhost lufs-0.9.3]# echo "this is a test" >
/mnt/webdav/new_file

The new_file ends up as a 0byte file.

Did you try adding the -d 755 option?

this solve the permissions problem for me (using sshfs).
