Alpha Testers

The LudusRegius project is currently looking for Alpha testers to help find bugs. Want to help?

Questions

What's an Alpha Tester?
In software terms "Alpha" means a version that is still under development. An Alpha tester is someone who helps test this Alpha version, and reports any bugs they find.

What qualifications do I need to become an Alpha tester?
You don't need any qualifications. You should, however, consider the following:

  1. If you don't know how to work a computer, you probably shouldn't be an Alpha tester.
  2. If you don't enjoy playing turn-based strategy games, you probably shouldn't be an Alpha tester.
  3. If you get unreasonably angry when you find a bug in the game you're playing, you probably shouldn't be an Alpha tester.

What responsibilities do testers have?
Play at least one game, preferably more. Report any bugs you find using this website.

Do I need a sweet gaming computer?
No. Your computer should meet the following system requirements:

  • Windows XP or above (32-bit).
  • Screen resolution capable of 1024 by 768 display.
  • Ability to install programs.

Can I get more involved?
Absolutely. The LudusRegius project is currently looking for new members. For more information see [Joining the Team].

Steps to Becoming an Alpha Tester:

  1. If you have not already done so, download a copy of the game and install it. For more information, read about [Installing the Game].
  2. Read the page on [Bug Reporting]. If you find any bugs, follow the steps on that page.
  3. If you're feeling ambitious (or enjoy knowing whats going on), read the [Quick-start Guide].
  4. Play the game!
  5. If you find any bugs, submit them. If there are things about the game that you find annoying, submit those too. If you don't find any problems but have an idea for a cool feature, submit it. You could get your name in the credits.
