Hi all, I'm sorry that this didn't pan out, but exams have been taking more time than expected, and with college applications etc looming, this is a pretty hectic time! I hope that the project picks up at some point in the future when we all have more available time. Best of luck with your respective projects, Joshua > Hi Marty, thanks and same to you. Hi Marty, thanks and same to you. I hear that US Thanksgiving is the busiest weekend of the year, sales wise, even more so than Christmas. A bit hard to believe but it's possible I guess :) Take care, Oliver Marty Landman wrote: > Thanks for the follow up Oliver. I'll be here and open to trying > again when the time is right. Thanks for the follow up Oliver. I'll be here and open to trying again when the time is right. You're in Canada right? So you've already had your Thanksgiving holiday? If so, a belated happy thanksgiving to you. We're due here in the US in less than 2 weeks - one of my favorites of the year. Hi dudes, I have not received comms from you regarding my last email to the list, and I have been too busy to worry about it until now :) One thing I have been busy on is finishing up two open-source tasks related to other projects (wxpython and iof), and have had zero time to put on luacpp. Plus the work project that I'm on that was the motivation for it has not started. So this will regain in activity at some point, sorry if this didn't pan out like you expected. Thanks for trying, and good luck, and I hope to see you back when this picks up again. Cheers, Oliver |

Hi guys, have you had a chance to try the boost stuff again? Perhaps I should just post the dll (on the wiki or such) and you could see if the test doesn't crash? Note that you only need the auto-unit-test library from boost so the with-test makes bjam build only that and nothing else. Don't have vc6 but I doubt it would be any different. Can you capture your console output and post it? Oliver ps. now you know why I want to avoid boost dependency :) |

Hi Marty, Oliver, Sorry for my absence, I'm still on holidays and haven't had much free time. I decided to try this out myself but, like Marty, am having some difficulties with Boost and Visual Studio. I'm using Express (Visual Studio Professional is a colossal expense to someone on a student's salary), and this adds some difficulties of its own (it doesn't include the Windows core API which Boost requires). I've followed Boost's installation docs to the letter (as far as I can see), and I've installed bjam. However, when I run 'bjam "-sTOOLS-vc" install' on the MSVC command line, I get errors about a missing vc-tools.jam. Running 'bjam "-sTOOLS-msvc" install' gets me slightly further, and this actually installs the headers in the right locations. Unfortunately, the libraries don't compile. I may have to sit this one out, at least until I get back home to my regular development system with proper tools. Thanks, Joshua |
