I just committed the very very first version of the prototype gnulpr
2.0 print spooler that actually compiles. Now becomes the tricky bit
actually getting it to work. My goal is to have a (kind of) working
prototype by teusday morning.

I just committed the first compilable version of what I'm thinking of as
gnulpr v2.0 alpha2.
The alpha1 version was enough of libprintsys, lpd, and lpr to have the
client server interaction. I completed that a couple of days after the
last meeting I had with sun. I was really hoping to have it all
debugged and working before the meeting but I couldn't quite pull it
I'm trying to have alpha2 done in time for our next meeting on 5th (I
believe). The three big pieces of this that have been added to this
one are libprintsys now incorporates many of the ideas that Sun
suggested. It also has two new filters, qmgr and sendlpr.
qmgr - is the basic queue manager. It piles up documents and then
spits them through in the right order.
sendlpr - sends the print job to a remote print server.
Next on my todo list is to get the alpha2 running. There are a huge
number of changes.
