Currently, you can only evaluate loops either visually or acoustically. This is mainly, because "Waveform overlay of loops" is located in a new window, which blocks access to the features of the main window.

It would be great if loops could be evaluated visually while listening to them.

Wouldn't it be possible to place the "Waveform overlay of loops" generally somewhere on the right upper pane, e.g. right to the loops list showing the waveforms of the currently selected loop? I see that I would loose the option to resize the "Waveform overlay of loops" window. Maybe it is possible to switch with a button between both options. If I have to choose between two options I would vote for the first one.

As I see it, there could be two possible ways to do this without loosing the visual advantages from the waveform overlay in its own "window". Either one could add a possibility to access playback from within the overlay dialog that's currently modal, or the other possibility would be to not have the waveform overlay as a modal dialog at all but instead a modeless, thus permitting to have it opened while still doing things also in the main frame.

Both options requires some serious re-work though. I must think on it and experiment. Right now I'm leaning towards making the overlay modeless, but I won't make any promises on this one for either how I'll solve it or when.
