Everyday I get reports with these included:

Attempts to use known hacks by 7 hosts were logged 23 time(s) from:
       85.244.65.98: 9 Time(s)
          ^null$ 9 Time(s)
       187.10.249.236: 5 Time(s)
          ^null$ 5 Time(s)
       177.156.75.222: 3 Time(s)
          ^null$ 3 Time(s)
       187.66.101.231: 2 Time(s)
          ^null$ 2 Time(s)
       66.155.8.191: 2 Time(s)
          ^null$ 2 Time(s)
       189.71.130.65: 1 Time(s)
          ^null$ 1 Time(s)
       189.84.222.210: 1 Time(s)
          ^null$ 1 Time(s)

I've tried googling about the ^null$ explout, but I can't seem to find anything relevant.

Would anyone be able to explain what it is? Should I be concerned, or can these reportings be safely ignored?

Thanks for the link. It actually helps to understand what this might be.
