Go back to the IMAP account configuration, scroll to the bottom, and 
find the option labeled "Outgoing server:".  You need to change it from 
"None" to the actual outgoing server configuration you entered manually.

P.S. The "Test Configuration" screen in the wizard is optional.  It 
doesn't need to succeed for you to have it save the configuration.
