section 2b), to see what parts of these feature requests might cause 
violations that might anger RIM:

BIS, as in BIS-B network connections, or something else?
BIS-B (the network transport many RIM and 3rd party apps use for 
reliable connections) is another issue entirely.  RIM doesn't want to 
give access without approval, NDA, and being an "alliance partner".  But 
the "secret" is well known, and some open-source apps already get away 
with it, so I'm a little unsure how to proceed.

P.S. I'm currently creating all Feature Request tickets against 2.1, but 
some may get pushed to 2.2 or 2.3 as I prioritize and start actually 
working on the most important 2.1 features.  The 2.0 release is a *huge* 
step for the application, and will form a stable foundation that makes 
most of these feature requests seem trivial in comparison.
