If you're trying to only use Wi-Fi, all you really need to do is make sure 
that you've set the Wi-Fi option (in the global settings) correctly.  It won't 
pick it unless you do that.

(auto-detection of network interfaces wasn't implemented until the pre-2.0 
development version)
