The settings really are the same as what you'd be putting into Thunderbird.
I just haven't provided side-by-side screenshots with arrows showing what
goes to what.  I do have a step-by-step on the website for setting things
up, though.  However, pretty much every e-mail client has separate
Identity, Account, and Outgoing Server configurations.  They just all find
different (and confusing) ways of presenting them and organizing them.

In terms of Thunderbird (describing in hopefully readable text), here's how
it all maps:
Tools -> Account Settings...
Server Settings:
Server Type => LM Account Protocol
Server Name: => LM Account Server
Security Settings -> Use Secure Connection: Never/SSL => LM Account SSL
unchecked/checked
Port => LM Account Port
Username => LM Account Username
Main settings -> Default Identity:
Your Name => LM Identity Full name
Email Address => LM Identity E-Mail address
Reply-to Address => LM Identity Reply-To address
Outgoing Server (SMTP) -> Edit:
Server Name => LM Outgoing Server
Use Secure connection: No/SSL => LM Outgoing SSL unchecked/checked
Port => LM Outgoing Port
Use name and password => LM Outgoing Authentication (probably None / PLAIN)
User Name => LM Outgoing Username

And of course each of these configuration sections in LogicMail gets a
name, and you go back to the Account screen to select the other two for
that account.  But if you just want to read (and not send) messages,
configuring the account along is enough.  But the walkthrough on the
project website shows step-by-step screenshots of all of it.

There are only two gotchas you should know about:
- The TCP APN settings on your device need to be configured properly.  This
setting is carrier-specific.  Look at the FAQ page on the project website
for details.
- The "Use MDS Proxy" setting determines whether the connection goes
through the BES network or direct from the device.  It might be better to
try first with it unchecked, but it might not make a difference.
