Hello there, I'm a new Logicmail user (currently 2.1.0.77 on a Blackberry Bold 9780). I'm really happy with it, so glad I can manage my emails w/o the push system, and since I'm a heavy email consumer I'm intensively testing it. I have a set of questions and remarks mostly concerning a single topic: marking messages as read. 1) is there a key shortcut to mark a message read from the message list? If not, would this be a feature to request? 2) is there a key shortcut to mark a whole folder as read (mark all messages in folder as read)? Would be nice if possible. 3) I noticed that replying or forwarding a message does mark it as read. But when pressing f or r over an incomplete message, it does just mark it as read - IMHO this is inconsistent because the forward/reply is not performed at all. I needed some time to understand what was (not) happening, then I noticed the partial status of the message thanks to the incomplete enveloppe icon. Thus I'm using f/r to mark partially retrieved messages as read. See how a usability issue can help sometimes? ;-) 4) is there a shortcut to jump to next unread message in list? 5) is there a way to empty a folder? 6) BTW, would be nice to get a little help in the application, at least a help page that lists available shortcuts. 7) last but not least: I retrieve emails, mark them as read. During a further folder update, some messages might be marked as unread again. I could not determine exactly when/how, but this is unexpected and annoying (I get a notification whenever I should not). Does anybody reproduce it? I hope I'm not posting too much at once.. Would be nice if possible. [snip] For the sake of the archives, sorry for replying to myself: 1) Alt + U (same as in BB email app) 2) not directly, but exactly like in the BB email app: enter the folder, be on top of list, press menu key, mark prior opened. Not very convenient (has to be in folder, has to be at top of list, the BB email app is not really a reference in terms of usability), but still there. Is anybody watching this mailing list, BTW? Yes, as you've no doubt discovered, many of the hotkeys and message list interactions are modeled on the BB email app. (Took reading a few too many BB user manuals to localize them correctly.) > Is anybody watching this mailing list, BTW? I've been way too busy with other things in the work/life realm for the past couple of months to follow up much. I have a long overdue blog post that I owe everyone on that, and the future plans. Hopefully I'll get to it sometime in the next several days. (It would be nice if the "open to the community" aspects of a project like this meant I didn't have to always do everything myself, though that hasn't materialized as well as I've hoped. Though I am thankful that you did reply to your post here so others could see it.) -- ---------------------------- Derek Konigsberg dko...@lo... ---------------------------- |

I'd like to contribute as I see there is stuff to do, I use to do that for some other open source and free pieces of software (I'm part of the dev team of Claws Mail) but I'm lacking spare time, and also java experience and maybe no real taste for it. Maybe I'll see how I can deploy a SDK though, need to check how hard is it but really not sure I can afford it. Not counting translators, are you alone designing and developing LogicMail?
